Little Lungs Alberta supports air-quality risk assessment for outdoor play

This dashboard reports the AQHI from Continuous Air Quality Monitoring Stations and the PM2.5 concentration from Purple Air microsensors from across the province.

An AQHI of 7 (PM2.5 concentration of 60 µg/m3) and above represents a high health risk for the general population, but vulnerable groups (children, seniors, pregnant people, and those with pre-existing conditions), are at greater risk at lower levels. It is always important to monitor symptoms, as personal responses are unique. Read our recommendations for children here: littlelungsab.ca/recommendations

The Continuous Monitoring Station AQHI is sourced from the Government of Alberta: https://airquality.alberta.ca/map/. Microsensor PM2.5 concentrations are sourced from Purple Air sensors at: https://api.purpleair.com/. The Canada ECCC correction factor has been applied to the PurpleAir PM2.5 data. PurpleAir is a network of consumer sensors; sensors are owned and managed by consumers, therefore PurpleAir does not guarantee data accuracy.
